Bagged me a beautiful 1972 Jazz! This satisfies two of my desires....Block Inlays and a Vintage Fender. All in one bass! Should have it in a few days!! :D

$2100 and change. Very reasonable for a bass from that year in the condition it is in.

Just got it in my hands today. The action was setup pretty high with flats on it. Put a fresh set of round wounds on it and lowered the action. WOW!

This bass plays like butter! I can't believe how low I got the action with no fret buzz at all, rare feat on a Fender! The weight I think is a bit less then what the seller thought it weighed. Seems just a bit heavier than my Sadowsky Metro. So that would put it around 9 lbs at most. I have not had a chance to crank up, but so far it sounds just like it should!

Also I took off the tort pick guard and put the original white one on which came with the bass. I want to keep this stock.

Now you need the thumbrest. Any checking on it? My 72 has quite a bit. It's nowhere near as good as shape as that one. However it does play like 'budda!

OUTSTANDING!

A bonafide "time machine" Jazz Bass.

The younger brother to my '66 clone......

I have the original thumbrest, but it gets in the way when I play slap. So it stays off for now. I also have the pickup and bridge covers, but again they get in the way.

No checking that I can see.....
