I bought this under the impresion it was an Official Replacement Body Made by Fender in the US in the early '90's. Now there is some question to weather or not I got horn-swogled

i think one of those Official Replacement Bodies would be designated as such somewhere on the body itself. It seems to missing a couple of other features: string-thru drilling, notably.

I'd probably accept the consensus of the guys at TalkBass.

Yeah I lowered the price. I bought it a few years ago and have no way to track the seller down to ask him where he got his info.

Very similar to my 90's j bass body, except mine has a date stamp and other fender stuff in the neck pocket. That one doesn't have the crazy random hole either which a lot of modern J bass bodies have (I was told it's to do with the machinery they use to make the bodies with).

Still, it should fetch a fair price.

'Official Replacement Bodies' do not necessarily have thru body stringing. I don't believe Fender offered them in LPB. But the color looks good. You should be able to get what you're asking if you're going to sell it. Probably not a Fender.

You got ripped off. It dosnt have string through holes. It also looks like it ws painted with auto paint. :?
