QUESTION TO THE JAZZ BASS PLAYERS OUT THERE... I WAS GOING TO SWITCH TO A P-BASS, BUT AFTER PLAYING (FALLING IN LOVE WITH AND AND BUYING) THE MARCUS MILLER JAZZ BASS, I REMAINED LOYAL TO THE J-BASS. THE MMJB LOOKS AND SOUNDS GREAT.
I WANTED TO KNOW THIS: WHEN YOU PLAY THE MMJB IN PASSIVE MODE, DO THE TONE CONTROLS DO ZIP OR IS MY BASS HAVING ISSUES? IN ACTIVE, ALL THE CONTROLS, TONE AND VOLUME WORK PERFECTLY, BUT IN PASSIVE, I HAVE ONLY VOLUME I CAN CONTROL. I APPRECIATE THE HELP FELLOW PLAYERS![/b]

That's right enough, mate - in passive mode the tone controls don't do anything so your's is perfectly fine.

basically, as you activate active mode, it enables you to EQ your bass with the treble and bass controls to add or take away frequencies you need or don't need without going back and forth to your amp but when this isn't activated your left with a passive bass (as you've noticed) meaning you don't have the oppertunity to do so but passive basses and modes can have equal pros and cons so dont feel you have to keep it on active.
