I went to guitar center today to buy a highway one jazz bass in honeyblonde, and they told me the highway one series has been discontinued since 2009 and they only have black and sunburst left in their warehouse. If this is so, why is it still listed on the fender products page and why is it still selling for full price? I've heard a rumor that Fender is coming out with a new bass to replace the highway one jazz at NAMM '11, hopefully it'll still have the nitro finish! Anyone know what the deal is with this??

I don't think if it has been discontinued since 2009 it would still be on the site, considering the site has just gotten upgraded recently, they (Fender) would've removed it already. Fender removed the Aerodyne P Bass right away when it was discontinued here in the US.

Are you really gonna believe what a GC employee has to say?

Zod, truer words were never spoken!
I wasn't planning on buying through them anyway, I just happen to be there and asked about it. They appear to be on sweetwater still and I'm going to search around local shops to see who has one and can give me a good deal.

Beautiful bass Zod, the honeyblonde with a black pickguard is exactly what I want. There's a great store in the Detroit area called Motor City Guitar, best guitar store I've ever been to and they have an awesome bass selection. I'm hoping I can get a HW-One through them. I would be interested in finding out if the rumors of it being replaced/upgraded again are actually true though.

I called fender yesterday to ask it this was true and they said it wasn't true, and that Guitar Center probably just wont be stocking them anymore.
