Indeed it was!

Teal metallic hardtop with a 426 and a 4-speed. I got it in early '68 from the son of our local dentist who got drafted. Then a year and a half later I had to sell it because I got drafted!

Oh well......as the saying went, "Sorry about that".

I'm thinking of taking my Bass down to a local guitar store to see what they have to say about it as well.

Cool Thanks Ajay!!! Ahhh my Coronet :D!! I been working on it for a year now and spending the time to do everything right it is an all original 1967 Coronet 440 when I bought the car a year ago it came with the original window sticker and certicard and the build sheet was still under the seat. It was a very clean car for its age. I will be making it a pro touring car but with a a pretty radical motor. For now i rebuilt the small block with my friend i will be using this motor until the car is complete then will be putting a big block in it. I just completed getting all the under coating off the car and to my surprise the floor boards are perfect. I dont even know were to start i have bought so many parts and been doing so much work. I think I will just post a picture of the car when i got it and one of were I am at now.

The Coronet is way cool! Good luck with the car restoration.
Go Mopar. I used to have a Plymouth Valiant- Slant 6's rule!

About your bass:

The binding looks to be a little ragged for a factory installation. It is possible that someone put binding on a Precision bass neck or an older JAZZ bass neck and then changed the headstock decal.

The decal is correct for 1971. A standard 71 Jazz should have block inlays and binding,. Special orders or factory one-off are rare but did happen.

The neck stamps were done in the larger letters in 1971 , unless Fender was experimenting with a new dating scheme at the time.

The wiring looks original but the cap has been changed imho.
