There is a 75 jazz re-issue model thats just like this(US made a little bit pricey)Guitar Center has the FSR mdels(Fender special run) Mex made, but possibly only p-basses left to buy,Squier's 75 Re-issue Indonesian made looks similar,or you go for broke and buy one from Fender Japan, they have exactly what your looking for even with some options to choose from,my choice if buying new would be Japanese which stand up to ANY american made Fender hands down.

Agree! when you say the Indo reissue, you talking about the P VM Amber?

Could be a Fender Special Run, Musician's Friend still has them. I Bought a FSR Precision a couple years ago, they were made for Guitar Center and Musician's Friend primarily, they're made in Mexico and it seems to be a crap shoot as to what you'll find. I like mine a lot, no issues but, at the store I got mine, they had a few that were pretty bad. Good luck.

I have never seen the truss rod adjustment located at the but end of the neck on anything but Fender American's. Also, I have never seen an Alder body with that much grain before. Only on the Ash Body.

I'm new to the forum so don't hang me for jumping out here, but ash bases are not as rare as you think. They're been making them for years and they still make them. No current American Standard but still in American Deluxe and if you want to pay a little more Custom Classics. They're on eBay and I've bought some from Bass Central and Morrell Music this year. Neither had the tone I liked so they were returned. Scroll down to the amber one. Beautiful bass just didn't have the tone I wanted. If you want ash it's out there, I suggest play before you pay though.

New to the forum but old to Fender J & P basses (bought my first one new in '74). The '11 American Deluxe V I bought a few months ago is sporting a rosewood neck above the natural ash body. This may have been a special order. The store I purchased it from said it had been used in a NAMM show.

The bass in question is part of Fender's Factory Special Run series. Therefore it's not available in the regular production line.

I think it's the same case for the Precision, IMO.
