I had just recently change my control config. to Vol./Blend/Tone on my 2006 Am. Std. Realized that I had a broken neck pickup, I purchased a Seymour Duncan SJB-1 Vintage as a replacement. The neck is still stock.

Now that I have both pickup working, there seems to be something odd about the blend pot. Whenever I put it in the middle, there seems to be a drop in level, almost like a "cancellation". I followed Seymour Duncan's wiring diagram and triple checked my soldering job and accuracy, everything checks out.

can someone help me?

thanks

If two pickups sound thin and wimpy when
used together, they’re out of phase with each
other. If you’re combining your Basslines
pickup(s) with Fender® pickup(s) in the same
bass, you’ll need to reverse the black and
white wires on the Basslines.

thanks for the tip. worked like a charm!

on another note, I skipped grounding the blend pot, works just fine. The volume and tone are properly grounded.

I wish I could take credit for the wording ("thin and wimpy") but I found the info on the Duncan website.

Glad to be of assistance.

Is there any way you could post a schematic of the final product? I am considering doing this myself and the V/B/T control layout makes more sense to me than the stock V/V/T.

Maybe alternately you could post some photos. Thanks.
