Glad to hear that those that have received the Deluxe 5 string are happy with it. I'm still waiting for mine, it was ordered on May 15th. It's supposed to be arriving sometime this month.

Which one did you get (i.e. color, fretboard, etc.)?

I forgot to mention that I decided to go with the natural ash finish and maple neck. Can't wait to see it!

I want to get one of those too. But, I want it with the rosewood fretboard. I just found out today that I would have to order that through the Custom Shop because the current 2010 production doesn't provide that fretboard with the natural finish. Go figure.

Natural finish on the body, maple neck and fretboard with black inlays and chrome hardware etc, it's a beautiful bass
Do you have any issues with noise? There is another topic with a lengthy discussion on the new deluxe series n3s and shielding.

New to this forum, but thought I should tell my story. I just sent back a month old American Deluxe V Jazz in Sunburst. Just a few days ago the bridge pickup quit working. Nothing, nada. I don't know if the issue was the balance pot or the pickup, but that will be for Fender to determine. Really a shame, as I love the bass. Fit, finish feel were great. I have ordered a replacement and hope I don't have quality problems with it. It is the bass I have been wanting to own for a long time ( I own a '69 jazz with blocks & binding, which I bought new in '69), so I hope mine was a one-off issue. I have never had this kind of issue with a new (or used for that matter) instrument before. Very frustrating. I was just ranting to my friends about the wonderful quality of this instrument, and then duhhhh....

I feel your pain. Fender needs to get their $hit together on "quality control". I sent back 2 new (2010) ADV's for unacceptable issues. Great bass if you are able to land one without issues. I do however have 2 new (2010) ADV's that will be keepers.

I'm new to this forum but I'm glad to see that other people are having to wait as long as me... I ordered, and paid for, a ADV in black and maple in July 2010.
Would be nice to receive it before I'm too old!

Ordered my 2010 Transparent Wine American Deluxe V on 12/15 from Guitar Center. They had it in stock, I tacked on overnight delivery to the nearest GC store, and I had it the following day. Sorry to see others are waiting--I feel for ya.

It's an amazing and beautiful instrument, and I'm not surprised to see other similar comments on this thread. Those of you soon to have yours, you'll find it worth the wait. Very well done, Fender!!

I chased Fender as the dealer didn't have any idea when i was going to get it....you won't be disappointed when you get it!
