Post subject: USA made Jazz Bass S/N's

I'm a bit confused. I am looking at a USA made J-Bass with a serial number beginning with "E" followed by 5 digits. Looking at the reference chart, it seems it says that the s/n should be something like E0 or E3 followed by 5 digits.

What is actually correct. The S/N on this particular bass is E 32410.

I am confused too. That serial does not fit the standard format as it is one digit short. Usually E3 means July 1, 1983 through June 30th 1984. Mysterious at the least.
