Gents, I've purchased a Noiseless Jazz pickup set. The instructions say that the neck pickup is identified by a BLUE dot, and the bridge pickup by a RED dot. Neither pickup has a dot! However, one has a YELLOW pickup lead, and one has a WHITE pickup lead. Does anyone know which is neck, which is bridge? Iron is hot, awaiting advice! (Both of the stock pickups have white leads, this is a '99 Mex bass). Thanks! Klon

In the Victor Bailey active bass the YELLOW wire is on the neck pickup. The WHITE wire is on bridge pickup. Both pickups are supposed to be identically wound pickups have an 11.6 K resistance and 3.8 Henries inductance.

The different colored wires aid in assembly. You can see that diagram here:

went thru this a couple of months ago on my 98 mim jazz. your neck pickup will be the shorter of the two pickups and the wider one is the bridge pickup. My mim had the two pickups the same width which fender told me some early serial number mim jazz models did. The real work on mine came when I had to rout out the bridge pickup opening to fit the wider pickup (around an 1/8 inch I think) but it was worth the trouble cause it really sounds great but iagree that fender could do a little better with letting you know the mexican models do require some modifications and mark pickups like shown in wiring diagram!!! Good Luck
