It is usually BUYERS who get defrauded on eBay and not sellers. But I suppose it has happened.

I'd definitely sell it on eBay. The ONLY payment method I'd accept is a US POSTAL SERVICE MONEY ORDER. Cash the money order, then ship the instrument. Done.

Ive been defrauded on ebay as a seller...

Also, doesnt ebay ONLY accept paypal as a means of payment? Im pretty sure they wont allow you to do a postal money order...

Exactly how were you defrauded as a seller?

Yes eBay has recently revised their "approved" methods of payment, except for certain categories which does not include musical instruments. I was not aware they changed this. Now you can only accept:
PayPal
ProPay
Moneybookers
Paymate
Credit card or debit card processed through the seller's Internet merchant account.

Bummer. Won't be selling any more instruments there myself. I have never had a problem with selling any small items and accepting Paypal though. However on anything over about $500 I want the money first.

Craigslist might be better, but there are a lot of flakes on Craigslist.

Do a google search on "paypal/ebay chargeback fraud"

This is how I was defrauded.

Sold an iphone last year on ebay to someone. The phone was basically in mint condition so I got top dollar for it.

The buyer payed via paypal, I sent the phone via USPS with signature confirmation. The phone was received and the buyer gave me good feedback.

Maybe 6 weeks later I get am email the guys credit card company did a chargeback, he claimed that he didnt order the phone or authroize its purchase. I provided paypal with copies of emails between he and I talking about the sale, and even pointed out the positive feedback he left for me on ebay...No luck. I was out $300.00 and the phone. Apparently there were three other he did this to.

Anyway, as to the bass, Id really like to sell this sooner rather than later...I posted it on here figuring that if it were to sell anyplace it would be here.

Ill drop the price down to $1600.00 if anyone is interested.

I have a question about your bass. You have an original "BADAS" bridge on it.
AFAIK the only way to make that bridge work on a Jazz bass is to inset it into the body. In other words - the bridge required the body to be cut to accept the bridge.
Is that the case on your bass?
