Anybody know what's going on with Leo Quan (Glen Quan) and the badass bridges? I've heard rumors that Glen Quan passed away and that the company is in some kind of lawsuit over the designs/patents Glen had on the badass bridges and who now "owns" them and/or the company went bankrupt? The prices have skyrocketed for badass bridges since they have been in short supply for a couple of years now. Before they were around $50-69.00 and now they go for over $100.00 esp on eBay.

I've been looking for a badass III bridges for my Fender US basses, but am not going to pay $110-130.00 for it when I use to pay $50-55 for the basic chrome bridge.

Fender has been using the Bad*ss II's on the Highway 1 and Geddy Lee/Marcus Miller series. Maybe Fender bought them all? The weren't exactly on display in every music store in the first place.

I hope they still are in production in the future. Those bridges seem to eliminate dead spots on the neck. And they handle the thrust of slap/pop style much better. They can make a regular bass sound high-end.

I don't know what's happen to the BA ll bridges either. I've had them on Hwy. 1 basses, and had one set on a Std. Fretless Jazz. They sounded great on everything.

I couldn't find one last year, so I ended up with the Gotoh 201. It's easy to set up, even easier than the BA. I do have BadAss II & III on my other 2 basses.

Just got one from the US (JMI music) on ebay.

They are shockingly expensive in the UK, you used to be able to get them relatively easily for about £50-ish, but they are few and far between now, and about £80

Anyways, I really wanted one for my new Reggie Hamilton sig (Knurled Vintage Bridge has too many sharp edges!) so having sold a couple of things I had some cash in my paypal and went for it....
