Thanks.
Thats my fav combination.
The PG doesnt quite fit but i have a proper HW-one PG on its way.
At the moment the bas has a tort PG off my CV Jazz on it. Looks pretty classy.
Ill get a pic of it over the weekend.

As this is a MIA vs HW i thought i would post this. I only had it a week but loved the (same) black PG on it.

Ive never seen anyone else playing a HW-one/1. obviously they do but over here in the UK i think they are pretty rare.

I had a guy start talking to me at the last gig (first with the HW-one) and he said he was a bass player, but had never seen one of those "custom made Fenders" before lol.

I really wanted to keep my MIA's but i found for a bass costing that much the build quality left something to be desired.
Lots of gaps under the frets and pups out of line is not something even my CV jazz has.

Have good day, im off to a gig now. Really looking forward to playing the HW-one now its set up better.

Went shopping today. I played an Am. Std. , Geddy Lee. Road Worn
and MIM Std. Jazz. And the winner for today.......MIM Std.Jazz.
The Am. Std was maybe slightly better but honestly not at twice the price.
Looks like I may go for the MIM and besides it is white and I like white basses. Since this is going to be a back up bass I think it should do fine.
Any comments?

now for a backup bass.. Honestly you don't need a super expensive bass.. Just as long as it sounds close to your main, sounds, plays, feels and value for money... Currently im planning to just simple bring 2 cheap basses... i.e. Squier, tokai and sx.. Then leave the fenders at home or studio recording..

It has the rosewood fingerboard. Really a nice looking bass.
I'm going back tomorrow to try them both again. Its a little easier now that I have narrowed it down to just two. I must have played 6 basses today but those two just felt and sounded right.

For a back up bass you cant go wrong with a Squier CV P or Jazz.
I love my CVJ and have used it loads of times as my only bass at gigs.

I've not played a MIM recently, and have no problems with them but with a CVJ at almost half the price I think they are ideal.

And the fit and finish on mine is excellent. Also it has vintage frets so is very easy to play.

I think I am going to go with the white MIM that I played yesterday.
There is just something about the particular bass that I like. Down the road though I will be getting an Am. Std. also.

If I had the cash, I would be more than tempted on the Arctic White Jazz in my area. I tried to find something wrong with it. I'm a for real old Roadie. I can eye ball gear and find the most minor imperfections. This one is clean. Let us known what you do on it.

oh yeah... nice nice...~ by the way has anyone tried fitting the Tortoise '62 pickguard on the MIMs?
