I own the Backline 600, I run it through a 4x10 cab and my old Bassman
2x15 cab and it sounds great I get good low end tone from the 2x15 and a nice mid range punch from the 4x10, although I find myself preferring to run the 2x15 by itself, the features on the head are nice I like the direct out with the post or preamp switch, the tone controls work well, although I haven't figured out what the contour dial really does yet, the effects loop is a nice feature and the overdrive channel is decent, I rarely use overdrive
in the music I play so I can't tell you if it is really usefull or not, since I purchased the amp I put away my effects pedal, which I was primarily using for the compression function, and run "dry". I think you will like this amp a lot.

I have the Backline 210 wit an extra cabinet, total 4 10" speakers driven by 300 watts. Sweet little combo, I prefer to play more to the treble so, ot preforms nicely. The low end will rattle the windows. The contour switch removes all the mids, you'll find that you'll be playing with it for a long time to get it right, not a bad thing, it's just that GK makes some very versitile amps.

Good luck!

That amp is definitely a good step up from a practice amp. But if you can wait save up for a GK 700RB or 1001RB with RBH of SBX cab. It will seem expensive at first, but trust me it will save you money in the long run, because you most likely will want something else later. But if you just can't swing it, the backline 600 is a good amp. I love my GK (1001RB with SBX 410), you can never go wrong with GK.

How does it sound using just the Backline 210, no extra cabinet?
