Hey I have a Jazz bass, and I'm looking for a set of pickups that would contribute to a good slap/pop tone, and will get a powerfull fingering tone too, similar to Flea. It's alright if they're active although I'd perfer passive. Thanks

I use a set of Seymour Duncan STK-J2 p/ups and get a great variety of finger and slap tones.

I have 500k volume pots, and a Fender TBX tone.

I've got Dimarzio Model J p/u's on both of my Jazz Basses...They're 'humbucking' and VERY high out-put...

I think the Jazz Bass is perfect for slapping the way it is. If your Jazz is an American Standard or vintage I'd leave it stock man.

upgrading pickups only change the tone slightly however I suggest changing the strings first before swapping the pickups..
