And his last years Entwistle played Warwicks, right?

Warwick started making the Buzzard bass for him in 1986. During the time when The Who was at their best (ealry to mid 1970's), he primarily played Alembic. During the later years he used Alembic and Warwick
From 1960 to 1971 he used a variety of basses including several Fenders.
From 1971 to 74 he primarily used Gibsons. After that it was Alembic until 1986 when he started using Warwicks as well. Here is a link to a site that explains his gear, including basses, amps, strings, picks and action, as well as endorsements and signature series gear

Re-issue the Steve Harris Precision and create a JPJ Jazz. I'd get both!

An Entwistle tribute, oh yeah!

John had more basses than all of us together. If you look into the history of the recordings, you'll see that he used the white slab precision, which became Frankenstien on most of the major hits.

He did have an affection for Jazze's too, when he ran out of strings for his Danelectro, the Jazz took it's place

The late Dee Murray, Elton John's longtime bassist, deserves a signature model. He was and still is my inspiration. Towards the end of his life, he played a Steinberger but his main axes were Fenders...mostly Jazzes.

Dee was my inspiration to play bass, and I'm the proud owner of his Steinberger. And I second the Fender Dee Murray Bass.

He doesn't play a Fender, the signature series we've been talking about has been about Fender issuing a sig model.

We "know" one another from MySpace and Chateau D'Nigel...or whatever that board is called!

How is that son of yours doing? I bet he's growing like a weed!

Dee deserves a signature model for sure. Did you see that pic on his MySpace of that amp advertisement? He has a Jazz bass in his hands.

Still I wish I could touch that Steiny you have. Maybe some of Dee would rub off on me and I could play a little more like he did.
