Welcome to the forum!

I've been playing guitar and bass for around 40 years but haven't been in a band for many years. As to 10s and 15s, back when I usually used a Bassman cab with 2 X 12" but at the time, I was more playing lead guitar (75% of my time with my rock band) than bass (25% -- in a jazz trio and backing up area folk artists).

In that context, 12s were a reasonable compromise. Combined with a Bassman 50 head, it was enough power for our not-very-loud blues-rock band and for the small rooms I played bass in.

Now though, I have a 2 X 10" Bassman 210/250 that works well for any kind of modern sounds. But I've never been happy with the lack of old school "deep with lots of air movement." So last summer, I had the opportunity to pick up a Bassman 135 and 2 X 15 cab. That rig has me reaching for the tie-dye every time :)

There wasn't a whole lot of choice on bass setups back then. Now there are different speakers sizes, wattage choices, bass effects, crybaby wahs, signature basses, a huge selection of strings and even a bass whammy bar. The change is very good. The bass is finally being seen as the awesome instrument that it is.
