Does anyone here have a whammy bar on their Fender, like a Kahler or Hipshot? How does it sound? Does it stay in tune? I'm thinking of getting one but would like a second opinion.

I have a Whammy Bar on a bass i made, i modified a squire strat bridge for bass and kept the whammy bar, it stays in tune longer that and squire did, but still it goes out of tune after maybe only two or three days of use. I dont know about hipshot whammy's, i didnt even know anyone made whammy bars for a bass, I'm assuming it would take a good amount of modification to the body though.

IIRC, in the 90's Carvin used to have this as an option on their basses, the Kahler Bass Tremollo system.

never used one: thought thought of the idea thousands of times but are they any good?
or would you really recommend a wah ped instead and save some dough and the sake of wasting a bass?
