So far, I've been ok not to get GASSED from the Hartke head, and cab. They work, and I like the hell out of them. The basses play great through them, and they're easy to move. Image

So, you think you're doing pretty good for right now?

I'm hoping I'm set period. I get everything I want, and need from the Hartke's.

Yeah,........... but I'm not seeing anything that can do any better for what I like , and or need to get out of a small half stack like this. I could've probably got along fine with the Hartke TX300 head. The only thing that had me do the TX600, was the 450 watts out of the HyDrive HD210. This setup has a really nice tone to it. I can only play so loud in the house, and anything after that is too much.

It does seem like the ideal set up. Besides, you never know if something might pop up to where you'd need a little more juice, and you have it available. It's better to have something and not really need it, then need something and not have it, when you do need it, especially when it's not going to get in the way in the first place.

That's very true, and this can actually be moved by hand, and can fit in the back seat of a car. I have a Rav4 that has more than enough cargo room in the hatch area anyway, without lowering the back seat backs.

That's cool. We have a Honda CR-V, which I can fit the Fender cab in the back, without doing the same thing, but I keep the Orange head on the back seat, since it's in a carry bag, as well as another carry bag, which I have cables, and all of that stuff, and the bass goes on the backseat floor in it's case. The only thing I can really keep in the Orange's carry case pocket is the power cable, since it's kind of a small pocket, and the speaker cables are pretty bulky when coiled up. One of them is 25 feet long, which is excessive for my purposes, but I got it cheap for $10, and you never know if that might come in handy. It also has a 1/4" jack on one end, besides the Speakon. I use that for old cabs that don't have the Speakon jack, if I use any.

It's kinda' funny how the Hartke has the features on it I like, more so than the higher priced amps I've had.

Well, a lot of times, that extra cost has to do with the brand name. They are all made in the same place, pretty much. Even as expensive as the Orange stuff is, it's made in China, too, with the exception of the all tubed 200 watt head, which is UK built, but also costs over two grand. Their stuff does have pretty high quality control going for it, but I think it's debatable that it's worth the high price, in my opinion, than what you can get for cheaper, including Ampeg. The only reason I even have one, is because I got it at one hell of a deal. I wouldn't have gotten it, otherwise, even if I had the money. When I say that, I'm not knocking it at all, it's just my preferences for things. If someone really likes the Orange brand and it's legacy, then by all means go for it. It's pretty decent stuff, from what I've seen. I'd just would be as happy with something half, or a third of the price, as long as it functions to my requirements, or work and not sound like crap, doing so.

That's true about them, just about all being made in the same place. And at times the name is what you're paying for.

Yeah, but that can apply to a bunch of other things, besides music gear. Although, certain products you do get what you pay for.

That's very true. That was one of my dad's favorite sayings, you get what you for.
