I have been very happy with the Carvin stuff, but I gotta tell you, that Mesa Rocks! I was thinking about picking up a 2x10. Do you know what the weight on that is?

I use a Markbass II 500 watt amp. It is a great tiny little amp. I hook it up to an ols SWR Bigfoot 2x12 cab. I play in a prog rock band and an Americana rock band and the rig can handle any needs. The cab is 60 lbs and the amp weighs 6.5 lbs. I also use a POD Live xt. This image is a year old I

I 've got a MarkBass II also. Its a great amp. I use mine with a 2-10 Markbass cabinet that weighs about 20 lbs. That little rig does fine for me.
I have played outside with this amp and it kicks out whatever I need.

I use similar set up but the head is Hartke Transient Attack 5000, bought new in '94. I used to use 410xl, but since I don't gig anymore, just do some studio stuff when other musicians ask for help, I practice with this set up - 210xl & 115xl. I can get any sound needed in the studio, if not the computer program seems to able to get the sound they would need ;)

Geddy Lee MIJ 2009 bass + Tech 21 Sansamp DI programmable. Great for getting almost any kind of tone from clear to mild overdrive.
At home I plug the Sansamp in front of a small 20W Ibanez combo.

I also started to use the iPod Touch + Amplitube software!!! Surprisingly good tone, and there are many amp/ effect box's to play with. There is one "stomp box" which seems to be like the Sansamp DI bass driver, as well as one stomp box which looks like the Ibanez Tube Screamer. So no problem to get any kind of tone.
