That's certainly true. It really can be a ridiculous amount of power. I have yet to even remotely crank my 1000 watt Orange. As it is, in the tiny rehearsal room I have, I have to keep it low on the volume knob, for the most part.

The same thing here too with the Ampeg. I get the good sounds, just not at higher volumes.

Have you ever really cranked it up?

Even at 1/3 of the power it has a good full tone.

What's the highest setting, you've had the Orange up to?

Maybe about 4 on the master volume, just to see what that was like, but I've had the gain set between 0 and 1. I've yet to fully crank it. I'm also situated in a small room, so that factors with the volume, too.

The room I play in isn't that big either, so the volume I do doesn't go up.

I haven't played with an acoustic drummer in a long time (we use electronic based backing tracks-you do what you have to when there isn't others to play with) so I'm not sure how much louder if necessary I'd need to go if that situation occurred. I'm pretty sure it would handle it fine and then some. I've played the Rumble 350 combo with an acoustic set and it did fine.

Your 350 Combo is good amp. I would think you'd be in good shape with either type of drum kit.
