Yeah, lightweight is a good thing, especially after years past of hauling Peavey amps. :P The Carvin 18" speaker cab that I have to go with my Orange 1000 watter isn't much heavier than an old Peavey Basic 60 that I have in the office. It's pretty manageable for what it is, I think. The favorite thing I have about my rig is the fact the head is the size of a lunch box and I can carry it in it's bag like a satchel, with a zippered pocket for cables. I've been thinking about getting a Speakon to 1/4 inch cable as a back up in case I ever decide to play in some venue (especially in NYC) and use their back line cab and it might not have a Speakon jack on it. Most likely, I'll try to bring my own cab, though.

I have a pair of Speakon, to 1/4" adapters from the Super Bassman, to the two TC Electronic cabs.

I thought about the adapters, but you'd still need a cable with a 1/4" jack to go to a speaker that has that. They might or most likely have a cable for their cabs, but I figured it would be just as easy to have your own. I wonder if they make an adapter that has the male end instead of the female one? That way you could just use that on your own Speakon cable. I didn't find one on AMS, just the female, but it might be elsewhere.

They may have those with the male end. I always have enough 1/4" cables around, so the Speakon (female 1/4") adapter worked ok for the Super Bassman that only has 1/4" jacks.

All I have is just the one Speakon to Speakon cable I had to get because the Orange has Speakon only jacks, instead of the combo type. I didn't have any others because all I had was combo amps. I will say, even though the Speakon cables can get pricey, I do like them because they seem pretty sturdy. It's probably best not to cheap out on cables, anyway, if you can help it.

The Speakon make a lot of sense for keeping the jack locked in for a more solid connection.

I really didn't need to use the Speakon, but Fender supplied a good one with the Bassman 500, and the head, and cab were setup for it.

Is the Fender speaker jack combination to where you can use both?

There are two jacks, both combination Speakon, and or 1/4".

I would have liked to have had that jack setup on the Super Bassman I had.

That's surprising. I'd think they would.
