Yeah, I remember you telling me about that. That was right after you got that head.

That's all the TC Electronic cabs used were Speakon.

I have a small 15w Fender practice amp. I use that at home(when I'm not hooked to headphones).
For a little more volume I use a Fender Rumble 350 with a Gallien Kruger 410sbx. More sound than you'd expect and the cabinet is really small in size for housing 4 10's.

I'm using a Hartke HA5500 head, with a VX410 cab. The 10-band EQ works well.

Nice Amp Mr. Nylon .... Jaco was using Harke in 80's he liked the Aluminum speaker cones ..... how does Harke compare to Ampeg & Markbass .... I've never tried a Hartke amp, they're hard to come by in my area .. but my guess would be that they're very punchy & well rounded

I've used and tried out Hartke amps and cabs in the past, even some of the original Guild/Hartke aluminum cone cabs that were first made when I played in NYC around 10 years ago. Their pretty decent stuff from my experience. That is a nice rig there. 8)

Thanks James, and Paul. I tried the HyDrive cabs with the aluminum / paper cones. They sounded good, I just like my sound a little more deep, and mellow. The paper cones in the VX410 cab sound about the same as the Ampeg, or MarkBass. Paul you know how the Hartke plays, using them in the past. The HA5500 head does pair up well with the Cab. I do set a lot of bass tones, and there are no rattles in the cab from the low settings. The 10-band EQ does great at bringing out the tones. Image

That's good to know. I've tried out one of those VX cabs, but it was in a shop paired with the HA3500 head. It sounded pretty good there, but I was more into listening to the bass I was trying out to pay a lot of attention to that cab.

For large venues,outdoor gigs

Behringer Bass V-Amp Pro
Behringer 4x10 cab
Contractor Grade 1500w Crown
Behringer FCB1010 midi pedal or a Yamaha MFC10 midi pedals

For small club gigs

Carvin BX Series MB12 Micro Amp.
Donner Eternal Bind Loop Station
Boss volume pedal
Axiom distortion pedal
Pedal Power wart strip

Other gear/backups

GK 200RCB head with a bad input jack that I really need to get fixed
Peavy 2x10 cab.
Peavy CS-200X amp
Rane ME15B 2 channel Graphic EQ
2nd Behringer Bass V-Amp

When I bring my Chapman Stick with me I also bring a small 4 channel mixer. I send the Stick's bass and melody sides to their own channel so I can get a nice balance. The remaining 2 channels I leave for my basses and occasionally Native American Flute.

I want a nice Acoustic head some day....

I've never had the occasion to use all of it, to be honest - I typically use half, or even just a single 115 for some smaller, quieter gigs... My "small rig" is usually one of the PH115s with a Streamliner 900 - it's quite a "combo"...

I know what you mean. I have a 1000 watt bass head (Orange Terror Bass) and I've yet to remotely crank the thing full blast. It's actually a bit over kill for what I've been using it for, but I got it for dirt cheap so that's why I have it. I guess if I ever needed the horse power, it's there. I do love it's portability, though. You can just sling it over your should with it's carry case and use the extra pouch for cables. That will be handy for gigs for loading in and out.
