I'm not in The Conservatory any longer. The gear looks good though.

Yeah, the last time I saw you post there I think you just acquired a Music Man bass and I think mentioned it. I see you've returned to the white P and J basses, from your pics there. These new ones, or the ones you had before?

The Jazz is a welcomed ghost from the past, the Precision is a new one.

That's cool. Do you keep the same pick guards from the old ones and swap them out, or do you just get another ones like them? I noticed you've always had those on the basses you've had.

I have a few PG's that I hang on to.

Time to set the date on your camera, then?

The Super Bassman, and the SVT cab was to heavy, and it really didn't suit my usage. I'm using a Hartke HD150 Combo now. It's working out fine.

You know, I was about to mention to you (in case you didn't see it in the recent news,) that Fender is coming out with a Rumble 1x12" cabinet again. http://www.fender.com/bass-amplifiers/r ... 00000.html I remember you were using 12"s at one point and this would have matched your Super Bassman head. I guess that's a moot point now, since you just got rid of it.

So how do you like the Hartke? My only experience with them amp wise was trying out one of those HA3500 heads with a VX series 4x10" cabinet and I had a 25 watt practice amp for awhile, too. That HA3500 sounded pretty good, but I wasn't too sure about the reliability of that cab in the long run. Eventually, I wound up getting that Rumble 350 combo and that's when I originally came into the picture here.

That's good news about the new 12" cab, but the weight of the Super Bassman was getting to be a bit to much. Hartke cabs are solid, and well built. The Hartke HD150 has the tone I like. The 15" Hydrive speaker tops it.

Well, that's pretty good. By the way, I remember you use to have some TC Electronic amps, have you seen the new stuff they have coming out as well? It's a 550 and 800 watt heads and some new cabs to go with them. Fender also has that Bassman 500 coming out with the tube pre and Class D power amp, which will cut down the weight, I'm sure. Orange is putting out two new Class A/B heads that sound killer, which is kind of the opposite direction of the Class D's in a way. It seems like everyone and their brother is putting out new amps this year, as well as new basses, too. In a way, it's kind of annoying, because I just got a rig I love, but there is more stuff coming out that looks cool. Damned G.A.S. :P

I know what you mean. For what I have now, in both Axes, and Amp, I should be GAS free for a good while. Can't have everything. I just got tired of getting 65 pounds around, plus 76 pound Ampeg.

Yeah, I don't blame you. My Terror Bass 1000 is only 11 pounds, but the Carvin 18" cab is 63 pounds, but pretty compact considering. It has casters, though. Plus, I can easily carry the head over my shoulder with it's bag and strap.

Sounds like a good plan.

Yeah, or alternately I could just carry the head and use whatever cab is available in house, if possible, or had to. Although, that could be problematic, depending what cab was there. I should also get a Speakon to 1/4" adapter for my speaker cable in case I ever need that.

Those Speakon to 1/4" adapters are good to have around. I have a pair from when I was running the TC Electronic cabs from the Super Bassman.
