I almost bagged a deer at night in NW Georgia one night.

It appears that Marshall has dropped the MB Series Bass Amps. In a way, to bad.

You think Leo would be proud of all the crap bearing his name that's coming from off-shore?

Business, and manufacturing has changed a bit since Clarence Leo owned Fender. At the time C. L. Fender had G&L, I'm pretty sure G&L's Tribute Series were made overseas. They are made in Indonesia now, and I think they were Korean manufactured before that.

I really like my David Eden rig, I think it was made in 2001 or so. It's a 2x12 combo, one speaker has a concentric tweeter behind the cone. It runs around 200W at 8ohm, 400W at 4ohm with my 1x15 extension cabinet plugged in as well. I pretty much run the amp EQ flat and have a Sansamp Bass Driver DI to play with my tone. It's actually a pretty big rig but I really enjoy physically feeling what I'm playing (and I have to keep up with a guitar player who plays a Mesa Roadking with a 4x12 cab).

I used to play a Fender Rumble 150 single 15 combo, it was a really good starter rig. I'd eventually like to save up for a Mesa M6 Carbine with a 4x10 and 1x15, but I'm very happy with what I have at the moment.

I've been through a good number of bass amps over the years. I pair these heads and cabinets up based on the gig, although I do have a couple of go-to combinations.

AMP HEADS
Ampeg PF-500
Eden WTX-500 (Micro head)
Eden WT-500

SPEAKER CABINETS
EBS NEO-112 (1 x 12" cabinet with a Neodynium driver & horn)
Eden D-210 XLT (2 x 10" drivers & horn)

I'm tempted to make some moves with my amp lineup. I definitely would like to get some more vintage tone options going. I was somewhat enamored of the Fender Bassman TV15 combo, but it wasn't really in keeping with the modern bass amp ethos of keep it light, keep it portable. I'd also like to explore something like an Ampeg B-15, too. But mostly as a recording option. I may compromise and get an Ampeg PF-115HE cab to pair up with my PF-500 head in order to get a more modern portaflex sound.

As for getting my tube amp jones satisfied? I LOVE the Mesa Walkabout Scout. OMG, that is one of the sweetest sounding combos I've ever played through. But at around $1500 retail, and with that power rating, it's much better suited to recording than gigging. And similarly, I got to play through a GK Fusion 550 head at a gig. It's got a tube preamp section and it just oozed MWAHHHH.

Nice rig!!!
A guy that I jam with has a smaller Eden rig - sounds great too!

Here are a couple of older pictures of my Garnet Stencil Bass amp (Stencil was the name for the amps Garnet made for other companies to put their names on.)

Early 90's!
Carvin ProBass 300 with two Hartke Transporter 410 cabs.
Image

Late 90's early 2000!
Carvin R600 with Carvin 210 cab and sometimes added a Carvin 115 cab. (This Rick 5 string bass I no longer have)
Image

A few months ago!
Peavey T-max with Hartke Hydrive 410 cab (absolutely awesome sound). But it was too heavy and was giving me some backpain.
Image

Now! I am using the new Peavey Tour series TNT 115 (600 watts) combo.
Image

I haven't tried a Fender amp but I really wanted to try out this one!

I had a TMax. It definitely was ridiculously heavy. It wasn't pumping out the full amount of watts as it should have, but still sounded alright.
