I guess as far as my amp tone situation, I probably should take some time to really tweak some settings, but usually when I do get a chance to play, I want to get started right away.

I know what you mean, time seems to slip away when other things come up. With one bass, and one amp, it makes things more simple. I noticed, the EB-0 stays in tune very well. Even with the outs, and ins of the case. About every five plays, or so,.... I dig out the tuner to check its tune. And its been so close, it almost isn't needing the tune check up.

I know what you mean with one amp and one bass, which even though technically I have more than one of those, I've really just been using one of each, with the Ampeg and the Ibanez. Although, today I played on the violin bass for the first time in a long time, at least extensively. I didn't plug it into the Ampeg, since I was in the living room watching some movies. I'm thinking about the next time I get to jam, I might use the violin bass and I'll probably have to do some tweaking with the Ampeg on that one, I'm sure. At least, I have more options there, then I did with the Orange. You know what's funny, with the Rumble 350 combo, I barely had to do any tweaking at all with any of the basses I used through it, and it always played well with the violin bass. Not to knock the Ampeg, but that's another reason I was bummed about the Rumble 800 coming out when it did, and too late for me. It's really hard to get a crap tone with a Fender.

I know, after everything gets to the bottom line, Fender does get the tone down.

Yeah, I guess they just managed to get it dialed in right the first time, starting with Leo.

A lot of trial and error, like Edison, and the light bulb. "You know it don't come easy." (Ringo Starr)

That's true. The funny thing is when you mention both Leo and Edison, they didn't actually invent the things that they are known for first, but perfected them. Edison wasn't actually the first person to invent the light bulb, and Leo wasn't the first person to invent the electric bass, even though he has been credited as such. I guess you can apply that saying that history is written by the victors, or whatever that was.

Yeah, the same can be applied for many other creations as well.

In a way, I'm glad my life never depended on me being the inventor type, if you know what I mean.

I've always thought it would be cool to be able to do that, though. Actually make something like that, and it works.

Yeah, I just don't have any idea what I'd work on.

Yeah, and if you do think of something, someone else already though of it before you.
