I'm a bit more in the air whether the HD75 is staying. Depending when i get down to SA. They should still have the Rumble on hold for me.

I forget how low the price was on the EB-0, before it was raised up.

So you still on the fence about the amp then?

Yeah, the EB-0 was a bit cheaper back then, for sure. If it still was, I'd been able to get one.

Yep, on the not sure between the two combos. But I'm leaning toward the Rumble 100 a bit more as I compare the two. The front end of the Fender is a bigger plus, being along the lines of the Bassman heads. Good sounds there.

Thats like how the Fender MIM Standard prices did, before they were even converted to the MIM Player series.

I have to say, the Rumble does have some good stuff with it. I remember when they used to have the MIM stuff around $400, or they used to have $50 or $100 rebates over the summer, and things like that. That was at least 10 years ago, or more now, I think. I'm still wrapping my head around the fact 2010 was 10 years ago. Hell, 1990 was 30 years ago, and I was 18, in the beginning of that year.

It took me a while, but I'm more impressed with the Rumble Series, since they did some changes to the series, in the 3rd generation. Once again, that Rumble 800HD is a damn good bass amp head.

Yeah,... I know; 2020. Fifty years for me. 1970 The year I got cut loose from Stranahan High, Fort Lauderdale. 1969 Got things stirring up, but 1970, WOW!!!! Look out world!!!Image

Yeah, they do have a good one with the Rumble, I think. The 2nd generation wasn't too shabby, either. My Rumble 350 combo has been going for 8 years now, and it's still the same as it was since then. I will admit, I didn't run the crap out of it, and only gigged with it once, though, since I wound up getting a stack, instead, starting with the Orange head, and now the Ampeg. Like I've said before, as much as I do like the Ampeg, I still am bummed about the whole thing with the Rumble 800 head. I guess just bad timing with that one, when it finally came out. Hey, what can you do?

Basically, I'm 20 years behind you in everything. You were born in 1951 right? I was born in 1971, albeit almost in 1972, since it was December 1st of that year.

Well almost 20 years, off by a couple of months. My girlfriend's birthday is February of 1967. Both of your birthdays are coming up soon, then.

Thats cool. What day in Feb. is her day? Mine is the 21st. In Feb. of 1967, I was in the 9th grade in Fort Lauderdale.

I had the HD75 from the last couple of days in Sept. I didn't feel the 48 pounds of the HD75 to be to heavy, until yesterday when I carried it out to the car, and into the store. The 22 pound Rumble 100 is certainly a welcome combo.

Her's is on the 4th. She was born the day after Joe Meek killed his landlady and then himself, and her ex boyfriend used to say the she was him reincarnated, because she was always good at and into doing recording stuff like that. Who knows, it could be true? I suppose it depends on whether you believe in that or not, as well.

Yeah, that is a big difference, a little over twice the weight. That's something that they have those as light as they do. You know, younger, up and coming bassists will certainly have a lot of advantages with that, unless of course, they buy old gear that weighs a ton, which I've noticed a lot of them do, still. I guess there's pros and cons to everything, but if you can get something that sounds really good, and lightweight, then I think that's a bonus. 8)

The Rumbler 100 is a smooth, cranking 100 watt combo, that's for sure.

Sounds good. 8) How's the EB-0 working through it?

Very nice Paul. I thought I was going to be using primarily the Vintage Channel, until I powered up, and set the Overdrive Channel. Kicked the Gain @ 11:00, Contour engaged, Drive @ 1:00, Level @ 12:00, Bass @ 3:00, Low End @ 8:00, High End off, Treble off, and the Master Volume @ 12:00.

The EB-0 has the Bass Tone open with no treble, and the Volume @ 2.5 - 3. The Humbucking plays through this Eminence 12" like, Big time!
I'll give the devil his due, with the Fender front end set like it is, it has a damn punch that a tube Bassman puts out.
Looking Fine! Image

Sounds like a great set up. 8) That's some good sounds to play some narcotic music. :P You know, I've been toying around with the idea of utilizing some distortion with my bass. I don't have any nasty fuzz pedals, though, and I don't have a tube preamp to overdrive, and the Ampeg doesn't have an overdrive channel, like the Fender does. It has built in compression, but I don't use that. They did make a few models with overdrive, though.

I'm pleasantly surprised to hear the Rumble having a close too, or the same basic sound as the Bassman Series heads. The Overdrive is very friendly to tune in, more so than the Vintage I thought for a 60's sound. Being honest though, there were a couple 60's sounds, the more deep mellow tones, and the deep heavier thump-punch tones. I definitely like the deep heavier thump-punch tones with the Rumbles Overdrive Channel. The Gain of course is a more prominent too. The Master volume I have set at half, then the rest is set on the EB-0. This Rumble puts out a bass tone, with volume, and balls to it.

I never saw the need for fuzz, distortion etc., for the stuff I play anyway. They do make a lot for bass these days.
