I think so, as well. Did you ever get that 100 watt Fender tube head, or you just got the Ampeg version, right? I can't seem to remember if you did have that one, but I think we talked about it.

I came close a couple of times on the Fender Bassman 100T, but for how it compared to the Super Bassman, and it's price, the V-4B Ampeg, or the Super Bassman won out. The 100T had some on, and off issues with its power section too. Of all the tube / cab I had, I should've stayed with the Ampeg V-4B / SVT-212AV. Gone now!

Oh yeah, now I remember you saying something about that with a power issue with the Fender 100T amp, and like you said, the price. The Ampeg was a nice amp, but like you said, gone now. I've been really using my Ampeg a lot lately, after it being dormant for about a year, since my girlfriend has been using the Rumble 350 combo for her Roland drums. It sounds pretty good, although I haven't really messed around with the settings too much, and just dialed in a usable tone for the room I'm playing in.

I wish I had a little practice amp to plug into when I'm in the office, or in the living room, when I watch some movies. I like to jam along when I do that (I'm usually not plugged in, but I also often use the violin bass) because it keeps me in practice, and I also can come up with ideas. I could wheel in the Ampeg, but that would be kind of a pain in the arse, since I have it set up along her gear, and then it's also kind of too big for the living room set up with the TV and speakers and all of that, and where I'd have to plug in. A smaller amp would be ideal, and I could put it in the office, so I could plug in and jam in here, if I'm not jamming with her.

In a week, or two, a Rumble 100 might be what the EB-0 plays through.

The Hartke isn't working out for you anymore?

The Hartke is still ok, but I tried a Rumble 100 with my EB-0 the other day. I do like it through the Fender Vintage setting on the 100. A little extra power with the 12" Eminence sounds good. The Rumble weighs just about half of the HD75, and does have a line out.

Yeah, the Hartkes do have some extra weight to them for some reason. I've noticed that with the specs. A little extra power and a DI out doesn't hurt, either. You never know if that might come in handy.

The Rumble 100 cab is just a bit more trim. Two inches lower on the height, and Two inches less across wide. Both are 14" deep. No Tweeter in the 100, and maybe the Eminence in the 100 is lighter. The plywood maybe a bit thinner in the 100 as well.

So it's a more compact configuration, then? That's not a bad thing, especially if space is a consideration, and if you have to move it around.

I might be moving it around a bit, so a lighter cab would be easier, and still have a 12 in it.

That would be a good idea. I about screwed my back up trying to move the Rumble 350 combo out of the office, last week, but that was also because I turned my torso while carrying it, and it just twisted it good. Luckily, aspirin and maybe having some youth left in me seemed to have helped and I haven't really had any lasting damage. Although, I haven't lifted anything heavy since then. The lighter, the better. You still planning on moving house?

Yes, and that's another good reason to go a bit trimmer on the combo, and still keep it at a 12" cab for it. It really doesn't take too much to wrench a back, twisting the body while moving a somewhat heavy load. As folks get older, things get heavier. I know that myself.

I'll definitely have to be more careful when I have to move stuff like that. I should have just moved some stuff out of the way, and used it's wheels, but I didn't feel like messing with it.

They seem to have really good specs with that generation of Fenders. My cab is a good example of that. For a 4 x 10" cab, it's pretty compact and light. A lot of those are almost 100 pounds, if not more. Mine is 62, or something like that. I mean it's not featherweight, but still.

62 Pounds is a respectable weight for a 410 cab. Sometimes you really can do damage to yourself by taking a shortcut or whatever. The older a body gets, the more susceptible it is too trauma. When I was in my prime doing the Road, I was able to press about 350 pounds. Free weights, not the gym workout machine units.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of cabs, even a single 15" cab weigh a lot more. Old school Peavey stuff was heavy as hell, but it was pretty much indestructible, too. Then you get the stuff with MDF is usually twice the weigh of plywood, it seems. I imagine when you were in the Army you could do a lot of that, as well. I imagine the gear you carried wasn't light, plus you had to be able to move with it.
