Unfortunately, it seems that JBL isn't putting out speakers for that kind of use anymore, just their PA stuff, and home audio. I couldn't even find any links from them that they even sell just replacement speakers by themselves. Jensens are still around, and even making bass specific speakers, and Celestion is still around, and there's Eminence, which I do like the sound of in my Fender cab. There's all kinds of others, too.

A pitty about the JBL's. But there are like you mentioned, others out there. Obviously, the HyDrive 12 has my interest these days. The HyDrive 15 was no slouch either, I just like the 12. Old habits die hard.

I can understand that. I've used 15" speakers for a number of years, not even thinking about going with a 4 x 10" configuration, until I actually did.

It's surprising how a change can maybe be a good thing going. You had a little heads up with the 350 Rumble showing off the 2X10's. If a 2X10 is good, maybe the 4X10 would be as good, or better.

That's true. I never thought a 2 x 10" cab would be good for bass by itself, but the Rumble proved me wrong. I think it's also because I was basing that on a Carvin 2 x 10" cab, which isn't that great on it's own, but does OK paired with a 15" cab.

I had some ok 2X10 configurations. The Marshall MB210C, the Hartke HD210 cab, HyDrive 5210C. That's all I can think of for now on those.

How was the Hartke 2 x 10" in comparison to the 12" and 15" sizes?

They were fine, just had a different sounds somewhat because of the configurations all being a bit different. The HD115 cab, had the Super Bassman going through it, the HD210 cab was with the TX600, etc.

That's true. You weren't running the same head with each cab, for the most part. Although, didn't you run the Super Bassman with a few different cabs?

The HD115 cab, had the Super Bassman going through it. The Super Bassman went through Hartke's, Ampegs, Fenders, and TC Electronics. I think that was about it.

The TC Electronics was a 2 x 12" cab, wasn't it?

Yes, you're right they were. I was thinking the 4X10 TCE cab I had at one time.

Oh, it was a 4 x 10" cab? I thought you had a 2 x 12" one. I know they made one. I don't know if they still do, though.

I actually had two 2X12 TCE cabs, and one TCE 4X10 cab. Not at the same time for the 12's, and 10's.

What amps did you have when you had the 2 x 12" cabs?
