I do currently use a Fender bass amp, from the Rumble line, with my Jazz bass.

But I used to have, years ago, a 1965 Supro Thunderbolt bass amp with my short scale Fender MusicMaster bass. That combo was my first bass rig.

That looks very cool! Now I know why you are called Mr. Nylon! 8)

I recently picked up the new GK MB 112-II - I had no intention of buying an amp, but walked into a local music store and decided to try some amps - first, the SWR Spellbinder Blue Bass Combo Amp - I was very underwhelmed. Then, on a whim, tried the GK and was blown away! I thought it would be really expensive but it was only around $350 - 200W, very light, I love it! Sorry I don't have a pic of it with a Fender, but at least the Guild has an FMIC connection! Plus, the cable is Fender too!

I would love to try out the new TC Electronics stuff too, like the RH750 and the RS series cabinets. My heavy rig is a Glockenklang Soul Head through an Epiphani 2X10 cab - sometimes I use my Alembic F-2B preamp just through the power section of the Glock.

EDIT: Actually, I do have a pic of it with a Fender, and a Jazz no less to match with the forum, at the store when I was trying it out:

it was a Gorgeous & nice sounding bass,.....but for some stupid reason I sold it at pawn shop in 1998....... I wish I still had it.....damn I wish Guild still made Basses.......Hint, Hint..FMIC.. :)

Hi hieronymous; Haven't figured out how I got that name but, the Ampeg is working good for me.

I have used a Gallien Kreuger 800 RB head through a Hartke Systems 410 cabinet (for smaller shows) + a Hartke 210 (brought as well for bigger shows). I've used the same set-up since 1988. I've replaced each of the speakers & bought a 2nd GK 800 RB when my 1st one was stolen in 1997. A very reliable, punchy rig!

I think RB-800's kick butt. I've used mine since 1998. Not a whole lot of people use them. Mainly because they don't make them anymore and maybe people who have them know that and won't dare part with them. Flea used to use them. Maybe he still does. I really never care much what anyone uses. Is that odd?

No it is not odd to care what other people use. Probably wisest to make up your own mind. Many top touring guys have endorsement deals and get free stacks.

Flea recently switched to using an array of ACOUSTIC USA 360/361 stacks. $5,000 per stack and he's using at least 3 at once. You can see that on their website. It is a recent switch. No way am I interested in that kind of thing since I don't have a tractor trailer or roadies.

I've been a Markbass user for 5 years now. It's part of my sound, and I'm always complimented by fellow bass players and audience members.

I have a Markbass, too...it is the Jeff Berlin version. Perfect amp for smaller gigs. The only complaint is that Markbass didn't put a MUTE switch but I just around it by either clicking on the tuner or pulling the plug to the amp.
Also, have GK MB Fusion with 212 cabinet, which gets loud. Haven't had much use for it since the band hasn't played in a bigger venue yet but it is ready to go.
Finally, I have GK 700RB-II head, which hasn't been used in a long time...may have to fire it up to make sure the caps are OK.
