You'd want the TX300 over the TX600? It is a cheaper option, and still gives you another 150 watts. They make a 12" HyDrive cab for it that's $199.99, but it's 4 ohms, so you couldn't run any other cabs with it, unless you got that one LH1000 head, which does the stereo channel thing, so you can run more than one 4 ohm cab.

I'd go with the TX300 over the TX600 because it matches up with the HD112B cab. 300 Watts @ 4 ohms. And yes, cheaper in the cash flow. The 112B is a 4 ohm 300 watts cab, with no tweeter. I only would want a half stack working anyway. The 112B doesn't have an out to feed another cab anyway.

You're thinking about doing this, or just some idea you're kicking around a bit?

I'm just thinking about it. I'm so far away from having any where near cash I'd need just to return the HD115, for the head, and come up with the cash for a cab. There is nothing wrong with the combo I have anyway.

I suppose you never know what can happen in the future. I wasn't ever sure I'd be able to sell the Orange head and get an Ampeg (never mind the whole Rumble 800 thing. ) but that did happen when I least expected it. Sometimes, stuff just does fall in your lap like that. But either way, you do have a nice combo amp, so really no worries. That's the great thing about that. 8)

I'm almost thinking it would be almost counter productive to drop a HyDrive115 for a HyDrive112. Just in drivers alone.

Yeah, it is a smaller driver, which will alter your tone somewhat, which could go either way, and the amp might be different, too, even though it's the same brand. I guess the one way to find out, would be to try out both with the Jazz side by side, but you'd have to do that in the music store, which isn't your practice room. Still, I suppose it could give you a general idea, at least in that situation.

The session I had today did very well to make me a real player of the HyDrive 15". A nice rich deep tone all a round! The 150 watts is very suitable, to say the least.

Where do you usually have the volume? Do you have it cranked, or it just depends on your mood?

I'm personally loving my Markbass and have no desire to switch it out or replace it but that new head does have some cool features.

What's really the difference between the two? Yours is 1000 watts, isn't it?

Yeah, it's 800 with one speaker 1,000 with 2 and is solid state. Plus it doesn't have that particular contour switch, or the limiter.
