Even though I believe that healthcare is a universal human right sometimes no healthcare is better than crappy healthcare.

Either way, hopefully you don't have to wind up having to deal with it in the first place.

I figured I had one foot in the grave, and the other on a banana peel already. I try to stay away from doctors.

I guess if you can take care of your $@!&, then you should be OK. Why do you think I started walking everyday, or as much as possible? I think the one thing that kills people is when they start stagnating. You got to keep your mind going, and try to move as much as you can, I think. Even if it's a little thing to start out with, you just work at it.

I just started doing the warm up section of the New York City Ballet Workout again trying to loosen my back up a little. Since my caregiving client got out of the hospital and has been on a different bed my back is totally jacked. My chiropractor has really noticed it and noticed how much easier my adjustments were when U was doing that particular workout 5 times a week. Since it's all body resistance I don't need to pay for gym memberships/put up with gym culture.

I've also taken to doing one "Big Cook" once a week usually of healthy food that will last me 4 days to a week.

This was my dinner on Friday:

Steak marinated in Rum and Lime Juice with Caribbean spices, with Mustard Thyme Sauce, Red Beans and Rice and Chili Pepper Cornbread. It's probably the least healthy meal I've made in the last 3 weeks.

Looks pretty good to me. The last time I made a steak I just seasoned it with salt, pepper, garlic, and onion powder, then melt some butter on it as it's finishing up. I haven't had cornbread in years. My mom, then my sister used to make it with spinach in it. That was probably the last I've ever had it, that I remember. I never really did much with baking, so I've never attempted that, myself.

Yeah it's just the sauce that was the real killer (3/4 cup of heavy cream, 1/4 cup dijon mustard, 1/8 teaspoon white pepper, 3 tablespoons fresh thyme) that's a lot of fat.

I make about a pan of that cornbread a week. I've been thinking about getting a muffin tin and making chili pepper cornbread muffins.

You ever use a cast iron pan to make them?

When I was a kid that's how we did it. I'd love to get one. I should scour my local flea market.

The cast iron pan gives equal heat to the bottom of the pan. A fine pan.

We have a couple of them, but it's been a while since I've used them last.

The cast iron pans cab be a job to clean if they cooked food stuck into them.

Yeah, that's probably why I haven't used them in a long time. :P That's the one thing that's a pain in the arse with them. I remember I had to clean it with coarse ground kosher salt, or something like that.

Or with a Brillo pad or something like that.

Yeah, I suppose you could do that, as well.
