I went through the store manager at the GC in Hallandale. It's one of the bigger GC stores, so the have a better stock. He held the Mini CMD 121P for me, that was still in the carton. The two GC stores that are close to me are the smaller ones. I live between the two by a few miles. The same thing goes with the big stores, but they are about 27 miles from the those two. Hallandale is south of me, almost into Miami Dade county. I-95 Southbound.
It was a good time to get the Mini CMD 121P, they're on sale, $150. off. Since it was in the carton, I jumped on it quick. I guess I probably will get the NY121 cab that matches the Mini CMD 121P, in a week or two when I have the funds.

It sounds like you got a good deal with it, then. 8) I think that extra 12" cab will give it a nice boost, too. I just though of something, is that Ampeg 2 x 12" cab 8 ohms? I know it doesn't match up cosmetically, but I wonder how that would sound with it, being a 3 x 12" configuration? That's probably something you don't hear about too often.

No, the Ampeg SVT-212AV is a 4 ohm, 600 Watts cab. Interesting idea though. The Markbass Mini CMD 121P has a speaker jack that can disconnect the internal 12", and power an external cab in it's place.

Oh, OK. Yeah, that cab being 4 ohms would be problematic, unless the amp could handle a 2 ohm load, or that's the only cab to use. That's cool that the speaker in the combo can disconnect, but I suppose the only point to do that would be if you just had the combo, and needed, or wanted to hook up to some huge cab somewhere, like an 8 x 10" cab, or whatever, instead of the single 12" one, or that speaker happens to fry, and there's another cab for a backup.

Markbass does have some interesting cabs. The Combo Head ll in the Mini CMD 121P Combo, is the same as the Little Mark lll head, other than it has no top panel attached to it, as it uses the combo's wall as a top panel.

The one thing about them is they are certainly distinctive with the orange color to them. They also make a 2 x 15" and an 8 x 10" cab, as well. 8)

I’ve recently switched to a new Blackstar U250 combo amp with the U250ACT cab. The tone and build quality is great. Running both together (2 x 250w) gives more than enough oompf for most of my my gigs, whilst using just the combo alone is a good option for practice and home rehearsal.

Some players don't like the colors of the Markbass amps. To me, they look like my DeWalt tools, a couple of some good size emergency road lights, The Boston Bruins, and The Pittsburgh Steelers colors. Image

I don't mind it, at all. It's great that people are trying different stuff like that, break it up a bit. It's funny, for being musicians, especially playing rock music, they can be a conservative bunch. :P

I have to admit, I don't get into a lot of the heavy, deep sparkle metal flake finishes, and colors. But I do like the looks of the Markbass stuff. The first time i really payed attention to the Markbass, and played through one, it did WOW the Hell out of me. It handled the low tones so clean.

Mine is lime green. At least the logo and the front panel on the head.

I'll try when I get home (usually I post at work since I'm a little behind the times and don't have internet at home besides on my phone). I might even have my Fender in the pic too.
