The impedance switch is a pretty swift item to have. It's almost like Fender really wants this one to set a standard for higher compact watt heads.

Yeah, it certainly does give you a lot of room for options.

Pretty good for a compact 800 watt head.

I'd certainly say so. 8)

The SVT-410HLF showed up today. It's a MONSTER! But I do like the setup on it.

Sounds good. 8) It does seem like a pretty beefy cab.

It's one of the lowest bass response cabs going. And I knew what I was getting into with it. I've had a couple before. The Rumble should sound pretty good through it, and the Rumble has a headphone Jack. A simple EQ for an old man to use too.

The cool thing about that amp, is you could be a real evil bastard and run two of those cabs, since it goes to 2 ohms. That cab is 4 ohms, right?

Yep! The SVT-410HLF is a 4 ohm cab for sure. And the Rumble 800 HD is able to do 2 ohms. Two of those cabs with that head would challenge a 300 watt Super Bassman. All in all, I came to realize the Bassman 800 I had wasn't as great as I thought it was. I don't need the 2 ohm capabilities, but it's just that one silly little switch that I think makes the Rumble 800 HD a compact Monster. Just my opinion, but I do believe the 800 / HLF should have some good sounds.
I'm still a bit amazed, in a way, that Fender hasn't come out with a 4 ohm cab. I do believe I know why though. Fender wants to sell more 8 ohm cabs that way. That's not my way of going, when one 4 ohm cab, and a 4 ohm head can work just as well.

It sounds like a nice setup. 8) Fender used to have a 6 x 10" and 8 x 10" cab, as well as a 2 x 15" cab. Those are typically 4 ohm cabs. I guess they do 8 ohm ones so you can run them with their combo amps, and probably so you'd have to buy more than one to get full power from one of their heads. I'm on the fence about whether a 4 ohm or 8 ohm cab would be best for me. If I had the 2 ohm option, like you do, it wouldn't matter at all, if I had either, and wanted to run an additional cab.

Those big Fenders were a different series, I forget the name of the series now. That was when they had the 600, and 1200 watt heads.

I think it was called the Pro series. I thought those were really cool, but I couldn't afford them. I even saved a pic of one. Image You probably won't find this pic online anymore. It's actually from the Fender site from back in the day.

Yep! Those were it. They were in another galaxy price wise for me too.

That's a rig that would flap your trousers! :P 1200 watts, into 2 x 15"s and 6 x 10"s. You probably could see why I saved that pic, that was a friggin' beast. It was certainly before they had all of the Class D stuff like they do now.

Too bad they weren't around for too long though.
