I have 2 Bass amps, The first amp is a Fender Combo150 it's got a 12" Eminence speaker & is great for practising & playing small rooms.
My second amp set up is from SWR (distributed by Fender) it consists of a Headlite & Amplite with a SWR workingpro 4 oms 4 x 10" cabinet the Headlite & Amplite are 400 watts each giving me a total of 800 watts, I also have the SWR footswitch that is also a tuner, mute button & FX bypass.

If you know about or have heard SWR amps then you know they kick $@!, I could just use the headlite alone with out the amplite & I'd still have enough power in most medium size rooms & you can dial in pretty much any sound you like with the headlite.
the headlite & amlpites are also micro amps (small D class amps that fit in a tote bag that comes with the headlite) it's great for carrying cables & extras, it's relatively affordable at $795.

I would also suggest trying one of the SWR workingpro combo amps (there's several to choose from) you won't be disappointed their website is www.swrsound.com
I love Fender & SWR Bass Amps

Good Luck

Getting into this thread a bit late, but I just wanted to mention that if you want a simple amp for just practice and have a bass with ACTIVE electronics, try a Sony, PSB, Yamaha or similar home stereo powered subwoofer. These are most likely part of your equipment inventory already and all you have to do is pick up a 1/4 inch female audio jack-to-RCA male plug adapter at Radio Shack to make the connection. I've been using this combination for many years and it saves lugging a heavy amp around just for practice... and you will be surprised at the sound quality. I even used this style amp at a small gig several years ago with my Fender Power Jazz Bass Special and there were no issues at all. Did a fine job and filled the room with quality bass. This does work with PASSIVE electronics basses to an extent, but the audio output level from the subwoofer will be a bit low in most cases because there is no preamp in the guitar.

I use an SWR Headlite coupled with an SWR Amplite (totaling 800 watts of power, I get 400 watts if I use the Headlite on it's own) & I use a SWR Workingpro 4x10 cabinet.

(technically some would consider this a Fender product as SWR is Distributed by Fender)
Though I'm not much into using effects, I do have a Boss ME - 20B that I use when needed.

Hello all! This is my first post here, so I will include a pic of my brand new AMDJB. Just got it a week ago. Not the first time I have played a Fender, but the first I have owned.

I use a Carvin Redline preamp and a Peavey digital one space 750 watt amp. I also use an older ART processor for effects. A Hartke vx410 and vx115 sound awesome underneath it all. I also use a Peavey Combo 300 with a 15 inch 4 ohm BW. It's awesome!
