I got me some "Amplified Peg." A Portaflex PF-800 head. I am using a Fender cab, though.

That PF800 is just the head you need with the better EQ.

Yeah, it has a nice voicing. I like that purple light by the logo, too. 8)

You can really see it's up to power when that lights on. Nice and compact as well.

Yeah, it feels pretty sturdy, too. It also has a bunch of connectivity, and a mute switch, for the tuner out jack. I used it when I put the bass down, or swapped it out for the violin bass, to test it out. By the way, the violin basses pickups aren't that loud in comparison to the Ibanez. I had to make a lot of adjustments between the two basses.

The Ampeg I think is going to be a fine head for your playing. Image

Yeah, I'll probably fine tune things as they go along, and the type of room I'm in will factor in, as well. I did go through the mid selector switch a little bit, and the high and low boosts.

That's a good way to handle the settings as you go, from one room to another. No two venues are the same, as we know.

Yeah, I know even the rehearsal space we've gone to in Boston sounds a lot different than my house. I'm also a hell of a lot louder there, too. I had to be, because of the guitarist we've played with. You know how they get. :P

Yeah guitarist are like that. My friend with the my EBO, and the Acoustic, the band he was in practiced at the guitarist, and his brother the drummer's house, around a pool table, and no too much bigger than that.

I know you wouldn't be moving that pool table out of the way, that's for sure. They typically weigh 650 to 900 pounds, so once they're there, they're there.

That was it too, and to be another kicker to it, this was in a typical Fort Lauderdale, FL neighborhood. It was really loud outside of their house. Ron used the Acoustic 360/361, and Glenn the lead player used an Acoustic 260. It was like being at a Doors concert when they played. the Band's name was Bolder Damn.

That's some serious hardware for that time period. Did they manage to go anywhere with it, playing shows, or whatever?
