I have a GL Jazz and am contemplating replacing the pickups with something other than a single coil... i am wanting to be able to dial down or off the bridge PUP without the annoying hum i get now... i play in a blues band and am looking for a fat, round sound like I got previously on my P.... any suggestions? something quiet when PUPs soloed yet with a fat low end....

i notice the pickups on my new Ric have a LOT more output than my jazz also so i wouldn't mind something a bit more hi gain in a passive like my Rics.....

I would suggest some DiMarzio Model J's, wired in series, for a fat and round P-Bass sound. Also they are quiet cause they are humbucking. I have them in my 08 MIA Jazz bass and love them, and so does my band.
