I recently broke the inside wrapping wire on my pickup by accident (lets just skip how stupid that was I already know) so I decided to hand wrap my pickups and mod my control plate.

My main question is how many wraps do the vintage jazz pickups have ('62 vintage and the vintage reissue, for comparison)? My other question is what is the best quality 250k/250k concentric stacked potentiometers to buy? Should I go with single build plain enamel 42 awg or 43 awg wire? What kind of capacitor should I use? Should I wire it back the way it was or should I do something different?

So far I was thinking about using mojotone 42 awg for the wire, .047 mfd orange drop capacitor and a cts 500k/250k potentiometer if I can't find a 250k/250k. Let me know what you think.

Your questions all relate to your own opinion as to what you want out of your bass.

If you have a " 1962 Vintage Reissue Fender Jazz bass" then you can look up the current spec. sheet on that bass to restore it to orig spec.

If you want to do something different- then have at it.

Please post some pictures and a description of what you did to your bass and how you like the result.

No one can tell you what to do. We can only make suggestions.

Good luck with your bass.
