I bought a MIA active Jazz V deluxe new in 1997. It has the 5 in line lightweight tuner setup like the MIM Jazz V. My question is when did Fender change from this setup on the MIA Jazz to the current 4 & 1 clover tuner setup they now have? Also, my bass has a transparent blue burst finish which I can't find listed for the MIA version. And lastly, I would like to know if anyone can tell me what the body material is. I am thinking about selling this bass or posibly trading so I would like to be educated on these issues in case I have to answer questions.

I'm guessing they found the 4&1 more ergonomic or something.

Colours that are available change all the time.

I think they were made out of either ash or alder.

Most jazz basses are made of either ash or alder, so indie-bassist should be right. and in those 10 years Fender could have changed alot of things, like on my 1997 jazz, i have the standard with the stratocaster knobs, and that has changed in those 10 years to match the American version. Also i think that the 4 and 1 clover tuners look cooler, so they may have changed those to look more vintage.
