Yeah, but that's not as decorative. :P

There a lot tool applications that worked well. Those little pen like push button top retrievers, the ones that have an extended 3 prong fingers for grabbing small things that fall into tight spaces. It grabbed it, and held it.

I remember that thing! Either my brother or dad had one of those. It had a red handle with that button and I think it was flexible, too. It was about 18" long, give or take, I think. I don't know if they had different sizes, but that was what they had.

There probably were a lot of types, but this one was ridged, and about the size of a ball point pen. Almost like an aluminum ball point. You held in your hand, and just pushed the top, and the grabbing prongs came out.

That sounds like a small version of what they had. I wonder what happened to that thing? The last time I remember seeing it is at their old house that I grew up in and I was a teenager, probably. It probably disappeared into that void of where objects you remember from 30 years ago disappear to. :P You ever have things like that, which you might happen to think about years later that were forgotten, but then you happen to remember them?

Memory is a funny thing like that. I couldn't tell you what I had for breakfast last Tuesday (actually, I could since I have everything I eat written down on a file to keep track of calories for my diet, but I'd have to look it up,) but I'll remember the most mundane thing from my childhood that doesn't really have anything to do with me, but my grandparent's neighbor, who probably died before the end of the 1980's. It had to do with her car being taken to this body shop in St. Pete, FL, which I'd be surprised even still exists. Why I even remember any of this, even when it happened, or why I was told, is beyond me. I had to have been around and she was talking to my grandparents. Go figure on that one.

Sometimes I think it's almost a selective memory that we have no control over. I can't tell who, or why I remember the things that I do. Important, or just so everyday memories of who cares.

The lighting in your first pic makes it look like it has a pink finish, which would be cool if they actually reissued the shell pink finish for the Standard Series, or Squier models. I think that was a custom color to begin with, though.

Those were the ones shot with a flash on the camera. Lighting in my place can be a challenge. I may reshoot some other ones with out the flash if I can get enough natural room light.

Another thing that might be cool is if there was a way to have a finish that changes color in different lighting. Kind of like a holographic thing, I guess. Or, you could bring back the light show bodies that Rickenbacker had, but with modern tech, like LED. Great for some psychedelic band.

The Fender finish Blizzard Pearl had a bit of the color properties to be light color enhanced.

That was a cool looking bass. Didn't they have a limited edition model with the matching headstock with that color, or some other one? I remember you had one of those when they came out.
