It's a player, that's for sure.

1960-1964. I gig the 61 and 64 most often. Brother Dave will recognize the Italia straps he got me started on.

Thanks Paul. I recently completed the pre CBS collection of both Jazz and Precision. Waiting for the photographer to put together all 19 from 51-64. Will post when it is done.

Steve

That's a cool bass. 8) I'm assuming they aren't going to make them anymore?

It looks that way. I wanted a Fretless Jazz, and the Am. Std. is the one I like. Got one before they're out of here.

Yeah, it looks like they still have the MIM Standard Jazz Fretless, Tony Franklin Precision Fretless, and probably the Squier ones, too. Who knows if they're going to replace this one or not?

You're right, who knows. But weather they do or not, I have this one that does just fine.

Because you know you want to slide a harmonic because you can without the frets in the way. :P

Seriously though, with those nylons and fretless, you probably can get a good upright doghouse sound with that set up. 8)

That and a bit more too. It's nice not to have "SPEED BUMPS" on the fretboard.
I gave up on recommending the Nylons to others. I use them, and swear by them. As much as I like Flats, I like Nylons more. 48 Years later, Nylons.

I might try a pair of those some day. I'd have to get the Rotosounds, though. :P Actually, Paul McCartney used Rotosound Black Nylons on a Jazz Bass for tracks the "White Album," maybe albums, too.
