Here's my new baby........a VERY lightly used, mint condition 2003 USA '75 re-issue Jazz Bass in natural finish with maple fretboard and I added the chrome pick guard. I like it!

Cool bass and pickguard ala Grand Funk Railroad.

Thanks! I used to LOVE GFR! I have to admit, I don't remember Mel Schacter's bass having a chrome pickguard, but considering I saw them three times in an "altered consciousness" in the 70s, I guess I can be forgiven for forgetting! To me, keeping the Chrome Fender cups and adding the chrome pick guard makes the bass look like a '59 Cadillac with tailfins to me! And that's just the way I roll. You should have seen the parade of motorcycles that have come and gone from my garage! "If it doesn't move.....CHROME it!"

Grand Funk? I ran out and bought a brand spanking new Jazz and black strings (were they nylons? It's been a long time) in 1969 because of them. Stupid is as stupid does, I only had it a short time and got another Precision. If I only knew then what I know now.

Back to the conversation. I like chrome too, and thumb rests.

Open a Photobucket account, it's free and easy. Download pic from your computer to your account. Just takes a little time. If I can figure it out anyone can.
