This is my one of a kind jazz bass that me and my dad made. We bought it for $200 and it was "custom relic" black in color. It looked like the previous owner submerged all of the hardware in water to get rusty and it looked like he used a hand sander to make the guitar look faded.
So we replaced the hardware with some new shiny and replaced the standard bridge with a Gotoh bridge. Next, we repainted the guitar. We used a white primer/base coat down then we covered it with a orange base coat. The orange reacted with the white and caused a crackle where the white would show through. This unexpected crackle looked really cool so we kept it and started to spray a red candy over the whole guitar.
We also put in some Fender ModShop noisless Jazz Bass pups in it. The only original piece of hardware on it is the neck plate. It is a reminder of what the guitar used to look like!

Very nice MIM Jazz Basses shown here, for those who don't think they are real Fender Basses.

Hey all. I just got the Jaco bass last night, and went to rehearsal. Sweet bass. Had to post a picture, lol. Here with my main fretted, a 91 (I think) Fender Heartfield DC6 and a 2008 American Standard Jazz Bass V.
