I use the Seymour Duncan Hot Stack for pop/jazz/motown/gospel/r&b and really like them.

I never used the QPs, but they are described as having more output, lows/highs, and more aggressive sound. Less traditional than classic jazz bass sound I would guess.

Listen to other guys that use them, or better yet, try to play a jazz bass with them installed and see what you think.

I had a set of quarter pounders on my old bass. I was playing heavier stuff back then and I thought they were great! If I remember correctly they WERE more agressive than what I had on originally. Quite a bit louder as well, more output, like acebase62's description states. His guess, in my opinion, is correct about the sound, I have original '62 Jazz Bass pups on mine now and it is quite different. I guess I would describe them as beefier? If that makes sence. Try them.

The concensus from those that use them (I haven't) seems to be that they are loud, hight output pickups. If that's what you want, try them.
