http://cgi.ebay.com/CUSTOM-SHOP-62-FEND ... 3caaedec0a

I think this is a sweet bass but I've never heard of a custom shop bass that predates the logo?? Could somebody tell me if the seller is providing accurate info? Thanks!

Ask for a pick of the bottom of the neck where the date stamp will be marked, anyone can make up a date. As for the possibility that it's a CS Fender bass it is very possible because of how Fender brings back these "relics" with some N.O.S parts which would explain the 1988 1962 bass that may cause a little confusion at first. Looks like a pretty solid instrument but def ask for a pic from underneath the pickguard and the heel of the neck. GL :)
