I recently purchased a black pearloid pickguard for my Squier J-bass and it said it was a standard pickguard when i recieved the pickguard and tried it on my bass it was off the holes were off and everything. I am not going to drill new holes or fit it to the bass cause the holes are too close together and arond the first pickup it is just off. What kind of pickguard should i look for for my bass?

Squiers have different hole patterns to fenders. Mex Fenders have different patterns to US Fenders etc etc. It can be a bit of a nightmare sometimes finding the right PG.

Try www.pickguards.com if they don't already make one for your bass they will make one for you from a tracing.
