I have bought a Getty Lee Jazz ( as well as a Lakland DJ) to keep my older jazz and PBass at home away from gig's. After almost 40 years I have played 2 places recently and I am getting feedback at almost monitor levels. This happens even while I'm turning to set the controls so I can't adjust with my volume on????? These last two times I did not plug into the PA, just my rig. (I am using a Sansamp for my Pre)

Back last pm at the rehearsal room, I turned up louder than the stage levels and no feedback. I have never had a problem like this ever????????

Are the pickup's too hot????? What do you think???

It seems obvious that if the exact same equipment is producing different results in different settings that you can rule them out as the cause and consider other variables where you play. Next time you're at the club try turning your cabinet around if it's close enough to the wall to take advantage of reflex. You need to treat every piece of equipment as a possible cause (including the lighting overhead) and rule them out.
