Hi, I want to add a tbx on my Jazz bass 5, but the wiring diagram furnished is for teleaster/sratocaster.

I have no problem incorporating it in my jazz circuit but just wander if the cap and resistor values should be changed since the TBX kit I have seems to be aimed more at guitars than bass...

Thanks for insight on this.

I'm also switching to Bartolinis new CB serie humbucker so I will change the pots value to 500k for volume...

Thanks.
Jerry

The Boner Jazz Bass had the TBX circuit.

This feature is now an important element of the Duff McKagan signature model.

My 1985 Jazz Bass Special (P-J like the Duff bass) came stock with TBX tone and 500K pots.

I later had my P-J and J-J basses customized with TBX tone and 500K pots.

The TBX tone units were installed stock, no cap or resistor mods, etc. The set-up works great for me.

Thanks for the input, I was trying to get a hold of the schematic of the Duff Mckagan to look at the values for cap/resistor, witout sucess...

I will mount the tbx stock and go from there...

Thanks again.

Nice 1989 Jazz Bass.

This baby has the TBX and uses rubber insert "Elite" knobs instead of the regular black Strat knobs of the time.

Here's a Precision Bass Plus.

This one was manufactured the same year as the Jazz Bass pictured above. It has the same "Boner" body styling which makes George Blanda so famous and of course the TBX circuit.

Features include Lace Sensor pickups, 3-way pickup selector, series/parallel switch for the neck p/u and an Elite high-mass bridge w/ fine tuners.

The Boner Precision Bass was also available with a maple fingerboard (as shown on the photo) while the Jazz Bass was offered only with rosewood.

The Precision Bass Plus was featured on Klaus Blasquiz's best-seller "The Fender Bass" (see pic):

Unfortunately, no. Fender has dropped the Boner models in 1993 in favor of the modern-sounding American Deluxe series, which were introduced in July 1995.

Since that date, the American Deluxe basses were upgraded 5 times: 1998, 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2010. The current versions feature 21-fret compound radius necks, N3 Noiseless pickups, HMV bridge, "Modern/Vintage" body shapes, CBS-era decals and active/passive electronics.

Chrome Face I build basses and I have been looking for this bass forever. It is by far the best looking p-bass ever, I think anyway. Do you own the P bass in the picture? If so could you scetch it out on a peace of paper and mail it to me? Let me know your thoughts on doing this. I am wanting to build this design. Check out my blog at meyersguitars.blogspot.com to see my work. Hope to hear back from you.

Unfortunately I can't help you. The Boner P-Bass shown above is not mine, it was available at Shelton's Guitars for a couple of months. This bass is now sold.

I googled this picture for relevant documentation purposes.

http://alexplorer.net/guitar/mods/tbx.html

I checked the wiring schematic that came with my 85 Jazz Bass Special, and the TBX tone control had the .022uf capacitor.
