So i got a Behringer BDI21 which i use, straight to the mixer without an amp on a live set or even on studio..

I'm planning to upgrade my DI, can anyone suggest?

I'm thinking maybe SansAmp bass driver, or SansAmp Para Driver (with midrange control)
also Aguilar Tone Hammer, Seymour Duncan Paranormal, Radial ToneBone...

Question though.. how does Red DI, Boss DI, Demeter, differ from those with active EQ?

Can't really go wrong with the Sansamp. The three channel programmable one is good, built very well and has a fixed midrange, which is boosted if the bass and treble are cut (and likewise reduced if bass and treble boosted).

Great tones, easy to use, very long battery life.

Couldn't agree more nr,

I use the Tech 21 Bassdriver DI and wouldn't give it up. Playing through the board is great and, it makes any amp so much better. They have a =n assortment to decide on, check out theire web =site and go out and try them. Guitar Center usually has them in stock.

Good hunting.

my first choice was the bass driver, before i noticed the paradriver with the mid control... then another option is an aguilar tone hammer which i liked after hearing a few sound clips...

how do they differ from di's of whirlwind, radial, countryman, ridgefarm .. etc?

It doesn't have an equalizer, but it is a great sounding DI...

so without the active EQ its just straight DI into a mixer or wherever you want to send it?

does the ones with EQ makes it sound more active?

The sansamp para DI looks pretty good. Every preamp colors the sound to some degree, but tt's good that you can blend the "sansamp" like sound with the "pure" sound. The "sansamp" sound is supposed to sound like it was going through a tube.
