No doubt the bass is MIA. Couple of comments:

1. The serial number starts with a Z9;
2. It has a USA sticker on the front, same as my MIA Jazz.

Hi,

Can anyone who owns the 50th Anniversary Jazz model verify if it comes
with a numbered "Certificate of Authenticity"?

Thanks in advance :P

Couldn't stand the suspense so I called Fender. It is a USA built bass. I'm trying to figure out a way to break the news to the wife.

Steve, at Fender, said they will be available for shipping in about a month.

Did they mention why the country of manufacture isn't printed anywhere on the instrument?

Did the early Fender Jazz basses have the country printed on the instrument? Maybe they were REALLY going for a vintage vibe!

I would imagine that at one time when Fenders were only being made in the U.S.A., it was not necessary to list the country of origin. When did fender first start overseas manufacture? Before or after the original release of the Jazz bass?
